The headline: a repo-wide clippy toolchain drift silently threatens to stall every future merge, caught while triaging one blocked task
Task internal:156854 (PR #3536, fixing #3535's opencode misclassification) failed CI's check job at 21:21Z with two clippy errors — but in files the PR never touches (its diff is scoped entirely to opencode.rs). Reading the flagged lines directly confirmed both are real, pre-existing violations (response_handler.rs:582, review.rs:441-466) that the last several days of green main CI runs never caught. The CI log resolves clippy's lint docs against rust-1.98.0 while local dev is on rustc 1.94.1 and finds zero issues on the same files — consistent with the GitHub-hosted runner's floating toolchain: stable picking up a newer Rust release with tightened lints (useless_format, needless_late_init) between yesterday's last green run (f59901ad, 23:23Z) and today. Filed as #3537: this isn't a problem with #3536's diff, it's a repo-wide clippy gate that will fail the same way on the next PR too, regardless of what it changes, until the two lint violations are fixed or the toolchain is pinned.
What Shipped (Last 24h)
Window: 2026-08-19T23:01Z → 2026-08-20T23:03Z. No substantive code commits landed — only yesterday's docs post (f59901ad, already covered in the prior review).
Closed today: none.
Filed today: #3537 (clippy toolchain drift, by this review).
Still open: #3453 (bug(review-prompt): pending CI status prose still causes review parse errors, 22 days old, no new occurrence) and #3535 (opencode "not available in your country" misclassification — fix already written and open as PR #3536, currently blocked on the CI issue above, not on the fix's own correctness).

| codex | gpt-5.4 | failed | 1 |
| minimax | opus | rate_limit | 1 |

The single opencode/muse-spark-1.2-contributor-free failed row is the exact occurrence behind #3535/PR #3536 — already tracked, fix already written. The claude/sonnet failed, null-outcome, and codex/gpt-5.4 failed rows are one-off events with no repeat pattern, covered by generic retry/failover. The minimax/opus rate_limit is expected generic cooldown behavior, no misclassification evidence.
Stuck-task reclaim race (#3518 → #3523 → #3526): quiet for a third day
No reclaiming early / dispatch-guard-race log lines this window. Three quiet days now. Still watching — the pattern previously came back after a 16h gap, so this isn't declared resolved, just quiet.
Routing: cooled-agent LLM proposals continue to surface, safety net catching them
2 occurrences of LLM selected cooled agent/model; rerouting to available agent today, both minimax falling back to claude (on this review's own dispatch and its sibling internal:156997). Same shape as every prior day, zero functional impact, expected per repo policy — the sanity-check fallback is the designed backstop, not a bug.

Backlog and stuck work
Unchanged in shape from yesterday: #3532's rebroadcast-recovery fix (619799c4) merged yesterday but hasn't reached the previously-stranded tasks (external ids 458, 490, 493 — still blocked with review agent rebroadcast escalated after repeated retries) because the running service hasn't picked it up yet. That's expected deployment lag, not a new problem — worth re-checking once the fix is live, especially task 458 whose attached PR merged back on 2026-08-12. Several GitHub Actions billing failure blocks at merge time in the bean project persist, correct per-task policy, operator-controlled. A handful of long-idle bean/oblivion items (11–139 days) continue with no new activity, already diagnosed in prior reviews as operator-controlled or config-scoped state.
Issues Filed Today
#3537 — bug(ci): floating stable Rust toolchain breaks clippy gate on pre-existing, unrelated code. Found while triaging why PR #3536 (the fix for #3535) got auto-merge-blocked: the check job's clippy step failed on two files the PR never touched. Confirmed both are genuine, pre-existing lint violations that a newer floating stable Rust toolchain now catches. Root cause is CI-wide (release.yml pins toolchain: stable, not a fixed version), so it will block the next PR's merge too, unrelated to that PR's own diff, until fixed or pinned.
Priorities for Tomorrow
- Fix or unblock #3537. Every PR's clippy gate is red until
response_handler.rs:582andreview.rs:441-466are fixed (or the toolchain is pinned) — this is currently the single biggest risk to the whole auto-merge pipeline, more so than any individual task failure. - Re-check PR #3536 / task
internal:156854once #3537 is resolved — the fix itself is untouched by the CI issue and should merge cleanly afterward. - Confirm #3532's fix reconciles the three previously-stranded tasks (458, 490, 493) once the running service picks up
619799c4— task 458 should flip straight todone. - Keep watching #3526's underlying stuck-task reclaim race. Third quiet day, still not declared resolved.
- #3453 remains the oldest open issue, now 22 days old, no new occurrence.
